OUR Programs
Sustainable Health Communities
In rural Uganda, many women and girls still face barriers to essential care. ARUWE’s Sustainable Health Communities program expands access to sexual and reproductive health, HIV services, and GBV support while building systems that protect, educate, and empower.
Our Impact in Numbers
Across Uganda, women are transforming their communities through agriculture, entrepreneurship, and leadership. At ARUWE, we strengthen their journey by supporting women-led cooperatives, training young mothers in business, and ensuring grandmothers and households living with HIV have access to food, resources, and land rights. This is more than economic aid it’s long-term empowerment, rooted in dignity and driven by women themselves.

What We Do to Empower Women
HIV Prevention & Response
Community-based testing, education, and referrals reduce stigma and increase early access to treatment and support.
GBV Prevention & Support
Survivors are linked to psychosocial, legal, medical, and economic support while local case workers and pathways are strengthened.
Male Engagement
Men and boys are trained as allies to challenge harmful norms and support gender equality and positive parenting in their communities.
SRHR Access & Awareness
Training, outreach, and safe spaces ensure women, youth, and adolescents can access sexual and reproductive health services with dignity.
Voices of Change
Real stories from women leading transformation in their communities.
ARUWE’s approach is holistic and community-led.
We address the interconnected challenges women and girls face by integrating health, education, livelihoods, and climate resilience. Our programs are rooted in rights, driven by local leadership, and designed to build systems that last.
